7th pay commission: Good news for central employees, big update on DA arrears stuck for 18 months

DA Arrear: There is a continuous demand for DA arrears from the central employees for the last 18 months. National Council of JCM secretary (staff side) Shiv Gopal Mishra is continuously raising the demand related to this.

7th Pay Commission DA Arrear: Dearness Allowance for the year 2022 for central employees is going to be announced for the second time. At present, central employees are getting 34 percent DA. It is expected to grow by 4% in the first week of August. During the last one year, there has been a big change in dearness allowance to HRA. But there is a demand from the employees to give one and a half year DA arrears stuck from 2020 to June 2021.

At present, dearness allowance is at 34 percent

Dearness Allowance was increased by 11% from July 2021 by the Central Government. After that dearness allowance has been increased again twice. At present, dearness allowance is at 34 percent. But, there has been no talk about the DA arrears that remain frozen for one and a half years. The government has made it clear that dearness allowance was frozen at the time of Corona. So there is no option of arrears.

Demand for compensation for 18 months' loss

National Council of JCM secretary (staff side) Shiv Gopal Mishra is continuously raising the demand that the decision to stop dearness allowance was the government's decision. If the freeze is removed, then the government should compensate for the loss during that time. Mishra also says that continuous talks are being made with the government regarding the one and a half year arrears (18 Months DA Arrear).

Will I get a lump sum arrear of 11 percent?

In the year 2021, in the cabinet meeting held on July 14, the dearness allowance was increased by 11 percent simultaneously. It was implemented from 1 July 2021. The dearness allowance of January 2020, June 2020, January 2021 was kept frozen due to Corona. When the ban was lifted last year, the government made an announcement about it. But, there was no talk on DA Arrear. Now if there is talk on the arrears of 18 months, then a lump sum arrear of 11 percent will be given to them.

Announcement possible in first week of August

It is clear from AICPI's data for the month of May that the DA hike in July 2022 will be at least 4 percent. That is, under the 7th Pay Commission, the total DA will reach 38 percent with an increase of 4 percent. The Labor Ministry's AICPI figures till May 2022 have reached 129. The figures for June 2022 are pending. Experts believe that dearness allowance is set to increase by 4 percent. It can be announced in the first week of August.
