Defense Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary after the MiG-21 fighter plane crashed in Barmer. The Air Force Chief briefed him about the incident in detail.

The Indian Air Force deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families, an official statement said. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
