NEET 2022: Government preparing to increase MBBS seats to 3495, know which state will increase

NEET 2022 Medical Seat Will Increase: There is big news for the students preparing for medical. If all goes well, soon 3495 MBBS seats will increase in 16 states of the country. Preparations for increasing the seats are going on in full swing. According to the report, maximum 700 seats will be increased in Rajasthan and 600 seats in Madhya Pradesh. However, according to the information that has been received now, these seats will be increased in old medical colleges only. The flurry of increasing the seat has started after a reply given by the Union Health Minister in the Parliament.
What did the Union Health Minister say
Union Health Minister Manusakh Mandaviya, while answering a question in Parliament by Dr. Heena Gavit and Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde, said that government medical colleges will be upgraded under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS). Under this, MBBS seats will be increased in existing medical colleges. He said that 3495 MBBS seats have been approved in 16 States/UTs. He further said, State Medical Colleges will be upgraded under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS). There medical PG seats will increase and new PG subjects will start.
How many seats will increase in which state?
According to the report 700 seats in Rajasthan, 600 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 550 seats in Karnataka, 345 seats in Tamil Nadu, 270 seats in Gujarat, 200 seats in Odisha, 150 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 150 seats in Maharashtra, 100 seats in Jharkhand, Punjab 100 seats in West Bengal, 60 seats in Jammu and Kashmir, 50 seats in Manipur, 50 seats in UP, 50 seats in Uttarakhand and 20 seats in Himachal Pradesh are expected to increase.
Most seats in Tamil Nadu
The Union Health Minister said that at present there are 91927 MBBS seats in all government and private medical colleges of the country. Out of these 48012 seats are in government and 43915 in private medical colleges. Tamil Nadu leads in terms of seats. There are 10725 seats here. The second number comes to its neighboring state Karnataka where there are 10145 seats and the third number is of Maharashtra with 9895 seats. There are 9053 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
