At the beginning of the trading session, both Sensex and Nifty started trading by falling. The 30-point Sensex fell and opened at 55,391.93 points. At the same time, the 50-point Nifty opened with slight gains at 16,523.55. But later it also saw a decline. During the pre-open session, 18 out of 30 Sensex stocks were seen trading with green marks.
Nifty's top gainers and losers
INDUSIND BANK, HINDALCO, ITC, UPL and ADANI PORTS were among the top gainers of Nifty on Thursday during the trading session. While talking about the top losers, there are WIPRO, KOTAK BANK, HDFC LIFE, SBI LIFE and BAJAJ FINANCE.
Mixed signals from global market
On the other hand, there are mixed signals from the global market. Looking at the US market, Dow Jones closed up 50 points after trading in the range of 300 points. Talking about Nasdaq, it closed up 1.6 percent. Netflix saw a jump of 7 percent due to better results. On Wednesday, FIIs made purchases of Rs 1781 crore in cash, while DIIs sold Rs 230 crore in cash.
Stock markets closed sharply for the fourth consecutive day
Earlier on Wednesday, the Indian stock market saw a rise for the fourth consecutive day. At the end of the trading session, the 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 629.91 points to close at 55,397.53 points. At the same time, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange gained 180.30 points to close at 16,520.85.
