This is the first time in 130 days that the number of people affected by this epidemic has crossed 1,000 in a single day. Corona cases have increased rapidly in the last seven days. On Saturday, 1,071 new cases were registered in India, which is the highest since November 9 last year.


Nearly 5,000 new cases have been registered in the last seven days (4,929 during March 12-18), which is 85% more than the previous seven days. At the same time, 19 people have died due to this epidemic in the last 7 days.

The Ministry of Health has also said that antibiotics should not be used unless there is clinical suspicion of a bacterial infection. In the last 24 hours, 2 people have died, while 526 new cases have been registered.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had earlier on Thursday written to the state governments of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka to follow the strategy of test, track, treat and vaccinate as the COVID-19 cases in these states An increase is being seen in the cases of The number of active cases in the country was 3,778 last Sunday, which has now crossed 6,000.


In the last seven days, Maharashtra recorded the maximum number of fresh cases. Maharashtra recorded 1,165 new cases during this period (12-18 March), which is 2.3 times more than in the previous 7 days. Corona cases increased from 520 to 739 in Kerala. However, the increase in corona cases in Karnataka appeared to be slowing down, with the state recording 656 cases in the past week, compared to 584 in the previous seven days.


The fastest increase in the number of corona was seen in Gujarat. Here, 660 cases were registered in the period of seven days ending on Saturday, whereas in the last seven days, the figure of new cases of Korana was 190.


In the national capital too, the number has increased continuously. Delhi registered 235 new cases during this period. On Sunday, 72 new cases were reported in Delhi. Infection is also increasing in Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
